2008 event launched by Councillor Chris Lloyd

The Manches Moor Park 10k & Junior Fun Runs were launched on 25th June 2008 with the backing and support of Three Rivers District Council Chairman, Cllr Chris Lloyd.

Councillor Lloyd has chosen LJMC as one of his three Chairman's charities, meaning he will be raising money to support the centre throughout his year as Chairman. He has already raised more than £4,000 by walking the length of Hadrian's Wall earlier this year.

Councillor Lloyd, who will be participating in the run, said, "I am delighted to be supporting this year's Manches Moor Park 10k and Junior fun runs. Not sonly are the runs in aid of a really worthwhile cause, but they also enable residents young and old to get fit and active whilst training for and participating in the event. I have just begun my training for the run and I am looking forward to completing the course in September, come rain or shine!"

The Councillor aims to get at least 100 friends and colleagues to take part this year and is encouraging TRDC employees to don their running shoes and sign up.
